Calif. (January 27, 2013) – What began as a potentially-dreary morning
quickly transformed into a day of new beginnings and celebrations for
race champions, and over 8,400 finishers of the 22nd Tri-City Medical Center Carlsbad Marathon & Half Marathon held Sunday morning in Carlsbad. 
MIAMI (Jan. 27, 2013) - Running the first marathon of his life, Guatemalan Luis Rivero Gonzalez won the 2013 ING Miami Marathon Sunday by separating himself quickly from the field and never looking back.
BOSTON - Reigning champions Wesley Korir and Sharon Cherop, both of Kenya, return to defend their titles at the 117th Boston Marathon,
but will be fiercely challenged by a talented international field of
Olympians, World Marathon Majors champions of Chicago, New York City and
Boston, and multiple global marathon winners, race sponsor John Hancock Financial announced.
EDINBURGH, Scotland - Bobby Mack led Team USA at the Bupa Great Edinburgh Cross Country race on
Saturday, Jan. 5 as he won the senior men’s 8K race in a time of 24
minutes, 27 seconds. Mack’s efforts lead Team USA’s senior men to win
gold, while Team USA finished third overall in the International Team Challenge when all divisions were combined.
BOSTON —John Hancock Financial has announced the Elite USA Team for the 117th running of the Boston Marathon on Monday, April 15, 2013. The strong U.S. team, recruited to compete with a deep international field, includes Ryan Hall, Meb Keflezighi, Abdi Abdirahman, Jason Hartmann, Fernando Cabada, Serena Burla, Stephanie Rothstein, and Alissa McKaig. The group joins previously announced Kara Goucher and Shalane Flanagan.
HOUSTON – Twenty-year-old Merima Mohammed of Ethiopia overcame leg problems and cold, wet conditions to run the second-fastest ever women’s race at Sunday’s Chevron Houston Marathon, while fellow countryman, Bazu Worku, 22, ran away with the men’s title.
