CINCINNATI (February 25, 2014) – The Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon powered by P&G is adding a female-themed fall half marathon, the “Queen Bee Half Marathon,” to be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014.

The Queen Bee Half Marathon will follow a new half marathon course tour of Greater Cincinnati, with a post party. The event also will feature a “Bee-u-tique” before the event highlighting pampering and wellness, with a fashion show featuring leisure wear and sportswear.

“The Flying Pig Marathon is proud to offer this new half marathon, not just for women, but to all runners and walkers in Greater Cincinnati,” said Iris Simpson-Bush executive director. “As in all our Flying Pig events, the primary aim is raising money for our charities, but we want it to be a fun, ‘girls’ weekend’ destination event.”

Participants are encouraged to dress up in their favorite costumes and ‘bee’ part of the fun, with massages, chocolate, champagne and an after party.

The Flying Pig also will offer a four mile run/walk through downtown Cincinnati Saturday morning as part of the Queen Bee weekend.

Registration is now open for both events at More information is on Facebook at Queen Bee Half.
