SAN DIEGO  – Competitor Group, Inc. (CGI), the leading active lifestyle sports media and event entertainment company,  has announced a $20 savings promotion for its races series wide, which will be available on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 (12.12.12). For one day only, participants can save $20 on races in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series, Women’s Half Marathon Series, TriRock Triathlon Series, Muddy Buddy Adventure Series and $10 on the Carlsbad 5000 race.


Additionally, the 2013 Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series Tour schedule will be officially released in conjunction with the year-end discount.

The 12.12.12 promotion kicked off with a contest on Instagram to celebrate 12 days of unforgettable race moments of 2012. Fans on Facebook and Instagram submitted pictures for a chance to win a 2013 Tour Pass over the 12 days. Each day featured a different “Best Of” theme for the photo submissions and the 12 winners will be announced on 12.12.12, when the contest concludes.

“It’s a time of year when people are setting goals and focusing on fitness and many participants are eager to get their race schedule lined up for 2013,” said Bruce Revman, SVP of marketing for CGI. “It’s also important to find a great deal around the holidays and we want to celebrate our participants across all of our races and the start of the New Year by offering this special discount.”

The promotion will be applied automatically when registering between 12am-11:59pm PST on December 12. Most races are included in the $20 off deal, with the exception of the Rock ‘n’ Roll New York 10k which has a $12 discount and Carlsbad 5000 which is offering a $10 off promotion. All international races will have a €5 discount. Additionally, the promotion is limited to the first 1,000 registrants for Rock ‘n’ Roll San Francisco and first 5,000 registrants for Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas. Muddy Buddy participants can save $20 on team registration for a full 12 days from December 12, 2012 until 11:59pm PST on December 23, 2012.

No other coupons or discounts can be applied to the special registration offer. The 12.12.12 promotion is applicable towards the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon or Half Marathon options, as well as any races in the Women’s Half Marathon Series, TriRock Triathlon Series, Muddy Buddy Series. The discount does not apply to Bike Tour, Mini Marathon, GET FIT or Relay options, or KiDS ROCK and NFL Run Series races.
