RICHMOND, Va. – The 14th Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10K presented by MARTIN’S featured picture perfect conditions for more than 38,600 participants on Saturday, April 13. Kenya’s Julius Kogo, 27, took first place with a time of 28:18 after a neck and neck battle with Pius Nyantika of Kenya (28:19). Kogo, also the 2011 Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10K champion and the 2012 runner up, is the first two-time male winner of the race. Ayele Megersa of Ethiopia (28:41) captured third place.
